Juan Vilacoba was born in Las Villas, Cuba. At a very young age he moved to Habana where he started working on painting. By 1980 he had several paintings finished and it was at that time when he decides to go to San Alehandro School of Art.

Between 1989 and 1992 Juan Vilacoba had exhibitions in several main Cuban cities like Santa Clara, Cienfuegos, Habana and Habana City.

In 1992, Juan Vilacoba decided to move to Miami to continue his art career. In 2001 he had an exhibition in the Little Habana ToGo gallery where he sold two of his
paintings.

He has been involved in the community and has donated some of his art work to the League Against Cancer (2002), and the City of Miami Dade (2003).

Juan Vilacoba has participated in different art exhibitions such as the South Miami Art Festival, Art On the Park at Ponce Leon and Carnaval on the Mile.In addition he had an art exibition on January 12, 2008, at the Joseph Caleb Center.

From May 9-31, 2008 he participated in the painting exibition "Art & Creativity 2008" at One Brickell Square Gallery.

Juan Vilacoba will be having an art exhibition July 12 through the month of August at
Mamushka Arts Cafe - 31 NW 36th Street (The Art District).

Juan Vilacoba will be having a future exhibition from July 22 through August 4, 2008 at the TeatroTower Gallery during the "Exposition Pictorica Iberoamericana 2008.

October 2007 - Mi Tiera Arte Plastica - Reconosen su talento en last artes plasticas.

May 9, 2008 - Sociocultural Magazine Ibero Americana Gives award to Juan Vilacoba for his Art and Creativity 2008.
